ABOUT ME

You were on your way to the "about me" section of a neocities website when you spotted 3 strange figures along the path, of course you could continue on your way or...

  • Go closer?
  • uh anyway... WELCOME TO THE ABOUT ME!

ive got multiple online names, im Rass / runelerune / Aula / whatever else you want to call me

Im just a 17 year old british transgirl, i wish i could say i do anything interesting but this is probably the most interesting out of anything, you might have seen but i also do photography that might be interesting, im a bit shy but i like talking lot so if you want to be friends im rass54 on dicord

As you can probably tell im a huge fan of vibrant colours and patterns, honestly a big inspiration for me are things like sonic CD and even other websites on here, Seafarer being a big one

Im a huge fan of meta and multi media stuff, i really love when something can push its own boundries, its something that still gets me even to this day, probably a big reason i love DELTARUNE so much, it just feels so exciting and like weirdly underutilised territory? things often use it as a joke or even as a metaphor but i cant think of many examples where your interaction with the story is central to it and a literal thing happening*

I think for me one of my favourite aspects of media are charectors, for me (other than style and aesthetics) charectors are the main thing that makes a game or TV show, i think thats because with good enough charectors just seeing them interact is rewarding enough to keep engaging with it and fan content becomes far more easily accesable and a suitable stand in for the original (if they underestand the charectors), a lot of examples i think are obvious are things like the charectors from Deltarune or DDLC (i realise by mentioning DDLC twice it seems like im more obsessed with it than i actually am but it does still hold a special place in my heart) but i would like to give a spotlight to things like Inanimate Insanity or the incredibly cool Persona 5 rewrite that starts with the decision to make Ren a transgirl but also has ripple efeects into making all the other charectors far better writen (along with just writing better charectors anyway unrelatedly) Picturesque Royale. at some point ill add a list of my favourite charectors along with links to their sources

i mentioned that style and aesthetics are the most important part of a peice of media or a game for me and i thinks thats largely because it gives it so much of an afterlife, theres a reason games like Sonic CD stick in my mind so much its because it inspires me in my everdyday life to come up with ideas and just makes me happy thinking about it, ive even made a poster using the tileset of collision chaos to stick on my wall because that level and its aesthetics make me so happy. I think a good aesthetic can even carry a game, i can be inspired to finish something or start it just to see what next area looks like (i think thats part of why i dont like pokemon platinum but thats another discussion), as of writing ive recenty been playin luigis mansion 2 which is by no means a bad game but the aesthetics in each are certainly help to motivate me to keep playing, or a better example FF7 (original) that is by no means a bad game (its one of my favorites actually) but at the beggining i had no real reason to keep playing other than it looks cool, and it did continually stun me with its graphics, the particle effects and enviroments look so incredibly cool and its a big reason i think so positivly on the game even when not playing, the battle enviroments being some of my favourites, the mansion one coming to mind

*DDLC could be close but while its central to Monikas motivation it doesnt fully tie into the rest of the game and charectors, for most of the game the player could be replaced with the actual MC and Monikas control over the other charectors isnt really game related and more just general powers, obvoiusly Monikas deppression is related to being a peice of fiction but Monika isnt the only focus of the story
